Description

Connect with nature in the heart of the National Park Manu.

National Park Manu is home to a vast range of animal and plant species, many of which are endemic and endangered, making it one of the most biologically significant areas in South America. As a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, its conservation is vital for maintaining the ecological balance of the greater Amazon basin.

This protected Peruvian Amazon reserve offers travelers an authentic rainforest exploration, where each step reveals rare flora, ancient trees, and fascinating fauna. Birdsong echoes through the canopy while the forest floor hides secrets of biodiversity waiting to be discovered. More than 4,000 species of plants, 1,000 types of birds, and hundreds of mammals, reptiles, and amphibians coexist in this living natural museum.

Beyond its natural wealth, National Park Manu offers a unique cultural experience. The Manu Cultural Zone introduces visitors to indigenous communities and traditional practices that reflect the deep connection between people and the land. This intersection of cultural biodiversity and pristine nature provides a powerful, immersive experience that few other places can offer.

Adventure seekers can enjoy river navigation, canopy observation towers, and guided treks through remote trails. Scientists, photographers, and eco-conscious travelers will find here an ideal setting for both discovery and reflection.

Visiting National Park Manu also means exploring the remarkable Andean-Amazon transition zone, where highland forests give way to tropical jungle. Itโ€™s a journey through contrasting ecosystems and an invitation to reconnect with the rhythms of the Earthโ€”an experience as enriching as it is unforgettable.

If you are one of those people who seek to explore the most impressive routes of the Amazon, this is the trip you’ve been waiting for. Whether you decide to join alone, as a couple, or with friends, our experience will take you through the most spectacular trails, where the jungle comes to life and every corner is a new discovery.
The Manu Cultural is one of the most fascinating and accessible areas to explore in the Peruvian Amazon, and it is considered one of the most stunning destinations in Peru. On this tour, you will cross a wide variety of landscapes, from the majestic Andes mountains to the high and low jungles of the Manu National Park, one of the most biodiverse natural areas in the world.
Throughout this journey, you will have the opportunity to visit the Chullpas of Ninamarca, an ancient pre-Inca cemetery that is part of the cultural heritage of the peoples who inhabited the region before the arrival of the Incas.
The next destination is the picturesque colonial town of Paucartambo, known for its well-preserved colonial architecture. In this town, you will be able to observe the emblematic colonial bridge, dating back to the Viceroyalty period, as well as the colonial temple, a place that reflects the passage of the centuries and the influence of Spanish culture in the region.
As you venture into the Manu National Park, you will be accompanied by specialized guides who will provide you with top-notch service, ensuring you make the most of this unique experience. Additionally, you will enjoy delicious traditional dishes prepared by our expert cooks. In this park, you will encounter amazing biodiversity. The Manu is home to over 1000 bird species, 200 mammal species, and hundreds of plant species. Among the most emblematic species you can observe are the howler monkey, the spectacled bear, and many other unique species. The Manu is undoubtedly one of the richest places in biodiversity on the planet.
Furthermore, one of the most spectacular moments will be the visit to the parrot clay lick, a natural phenomenon where thousands of parrots gather in large numbers to feed on the clay of the cliffs, creating an impressive visual spectacle.
Did you know that the Manu National Park was created in 1973 and later recognized as a Biosphere Reserve and Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO? Join us and discover the heart of the jungle and all it has to teach us!

We will pick you up from your hotel around 5:45 a.m., and after a short journey of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, we will make our first stop at the Chullpas of Ninamarca (3,500 m / 11,482 feet), a pre-Inca site belonging to the Lupaca culture. During the ride, you will enjoy stunning views of the Andean mountains and valleys, a landscape that will prepare you for the rest of the adventure.

Next, we will arrive at the picturesque folkloric town of Paucartambo (2,906 m / 9,534 feet), where you will enjoy a typical breakfast. This town is known for its rich culture and deep-rooted traditions. After a brief break, the journey will continue to Acjanaco (3,560 m / 11,679 feet), the entry point to Manu National Park, where our guide will provide a short introductory talk about the park and the local biodiversity.

  • Payment of the remaining balance: If you opt to pay only the deposit, the remaining balance must be paid upon your arrival in Cusco a day before the tour starts. โœ“ Customer Pickup:
Please note:

  • All pickups are made within the city of Cusco, but we recommend booking a hotel in the historic center with a good location. Our guide or staff will confirm your pickup time a day before the tour. Due to traffic conditions, the pickup time may vary by 30 to 45 minutes. Cusco is an ancient city with many narrow and cobblestone streets. Some hotels and Airbnbs are located on streets with no transport access or on long and steep hills, making it difficult to transport your luggage. We strongly recommend booking accommodation with easy access.

โœ“ Lost Items:

  • Please pay attention to where you leave your belongings and remember to collect everything once you leave our transport, campsites, or restaurants. You are the sole responsible for your belongings during the tour.

โœ“ Weather:

  • Of course, the weather is unpredictable. Generally, the dry season in Cusco is from April to October, but this doesn’t prevent rain in June or sunshine in December, so be prepared as it can be very hot in the jungle during the dry season.

โœ“ Altitude Sickness (Soroche) and Stomach Pain:
For those hiking to Cusco directly from sea level, we recommend arriving 2 days before your hike. Two of the most common health problems among tourists in Cusco are:
Altitude sickness (Soroche) and stomach pain caused by slow digestion. Altitude sickness symptoms include headaches and nausea.

  • Stomach pain: It is recommended to drink 3-4 liters of water per day. Your body will need this to stay hydrated. Hot drinks like coca leaf tea are especially recommended. Soups, vegetables, and carbohydrates (not fried or heavy) are also a good option. Sweets, chocolates, cookies, and fruits are also a good choice. In general, all foods that are easily digestible. Avoid alcohol and smoking.

Try to sleep at least 8 hours and avoid excessive exercise. Keep your body at an appropriate temperature by wearing warm clothes to protect yourself from the cold. During the adjustment to altitude, there is a general rule to follow: eat what is necessary and drink plenty of fluids.

The Manu National Park is located in the Amazon region, in the southeastern part of Peru, and spans parts of the departments of Cusco and Madre de Dios.

No, mobile phone coverage is very limited in the park, especially in the more remote areas. It is recommended to be prepared to disconnect during the tour.

The climate in the park is warm and humid, with frequent rainfall. It is important to be prepared for the conditions, wear appropriate clothing, and protect yourself from insects. However, the guides are trained to ensure the safety of the group.

Yes, photos are allowed, but always with respect for the wildlife and the natural environment. It is recommended to use long-range lenses to avoid getting too close to the animals.

Yes, you can visit the park without the yellow fever vaccine, but it is strongly recommended for health and safety reasons.

Most people travel to Cusco by air. Please note that Cusco’s airport only operates domestic flights. Therefore, if you are coming directly from abroad to Lima, you will need to collect your luggage at the airport and check it again for your flight to Cusco. There are four airlines that fly round-trip between Lima and Cusco: LATAM Airlines, AVIANCA Airlines, Star Peru. All of these airlines offer similar flight schedules and services, but we generally recommend LATAM Airlines. You also have the option of traveling to Cusco by land. Please note that the journey from Lima to Cusco takes approximately 24 hours.
